Over the past few years we can see a growing community of Muslimah fashion bloggers and hijabistas in Malaysia. This has totally changed the idea of how to infuse the modern lifestyle into the core of what it means to be a modern Muslimah. The media used to portray Muslimah as shrouded in pitch black robes and full covered from head to toe, feeding the stereotype idea that modern lifestyle, fashion and the religion itself could not mix. However this is when all those popular Muslimah fashion blogs prove them wrong with huge impact on the internet like no one has ever seen before.
But what are the best hijab styles for your face shape? Choosing the right outfit is actually a matter of personal style, sometimes, but choosing the right hijab style can be a little more complicated than that. There are many styles you have probably tried. For some hijabista it would be very easy for them to find which style suits best for them. However the rest would find it is harder because they simply don’t know which style to choose according to their face shape.
- Round face shape - it is suggestible for you to avoid under scarves if you have this kind of face shape because they are pulled down over the forehead and make your face looks shorter. For those who find it uncomfortable,you may choose a slim under scarves instead. For me, my face is small and round in shape. A thin material scarf would be my choice as it stick to face well. As in this picture, I used a slim underscarf. It is barely visible but it holds the material well.
- Long/rectangular shape – avoid hijab styles that cling tightly around your face as it will make it look longer. So try putting the under scarf down your forehead to make your face look shorter. You might layer them up a bit as what the model did in this picture.
- Oval face shape – you don’t have to worry because you can pull of any styles you want and you can still look good anyways.
- Square face shape – avoid tight hijabs and keep it draped in a loose effect especially on the forehead.
